How it works
Files are converted locally using heic2any — a WASM-powered HEIC decoder. Your photos never leave your device.
Settings apply to newly added files. To re-convert existing files with new settings, remove them and re-upload.
• HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container): Apple's default photo format introduced in iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra. It uses the HEVC codec to store images at roughly half the size of JPEG with the same or better visual quality. • Why Convert to JPG?: HEIC files are not natively supported on Windows, older Android devices, or most web services. Converting to JPG makes photos universally viewable and shareable across all platforms and devices.
• 100% Private: Your HEIC files are converted entirely in your browser using heic2any. No files are uploaded to any server — your photos stay on your device. • Batch Conversion: Drop multiple HEIC files at once. Each file is converted in parallel and available for individual download or as a single ZIP archive. • Multiple Output Formats: Export to JPEG for maximum compatibility, PNG for lossless quality with transparency, or WebP for the best size-to-quality ratio. • Quality Control: Adjust the JPEG or WebP output quality from 50% to 100% to balance file size against visual fidelity before downloading.
1. Upload HEIC Files: Click the upload area or drag and drop one or more .heic or .heif files from your iPhone, Mac, or cloud storage. 2. Choose Format & Quality: Select JPEG, PNG, or WebP as the output format. For JPEG and WebP, adjust the quality slider to control file size. 3. Download Converted Images: Each file converts automatically. Download images individually or click "Download All as ZIP" for a batch export.
Windows does not natively support the HEVC codec used by HEIC. You need to either install the Microsoft HEVC extension or convert the file to JPG using this tool.
At quality 90% or above the difference is imperceptible to the naked eye. PNG output is lossless and preserves every pixel perfectly.
Connect your iPhone via USB and copy files in Windows Explorer, use AirDrop to a Mac, or download from iCloud.com. The files will be in .heic format.
There is no hard limit. However, processing many large HEIC files simultaneously may slow down depending on your device's RAM and CPU.
