How to merge PDF files

  1. Select two or more PDF files, or drag them onto the tool.
  2. Use the up and down arrows to put the files in the order you want them in the final document.
  3. Click Merge. The files are combined in your browser - usually in a second or two.
  4. Download the merged PDF.

Merge PDFs without uploading them

Popular PDF sites process your files on their servers. That is a real concern for contracts, payslips, tax returns and medical records. Pikden’s PDF Merger uses the open-source pdf-lib library to read and combine the documents inside your browser tab, so the files never leave your computer. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.

What is preserved

Pages are copied as-is, so text stays selectable and searchable, and images keep their original resolution. Page sizes are kept per page, so you can mix A4 and Letter documents. Interactive form fields and digital signatures from the source files may not remain valid after merging, because any change to a signed PDF invalidates the signature.

Need to rearrange individual pages?

Merge first, then use the PDF Page Extractor to keep only the pages you need, or the PDF Splitter to cut the result into ranges. The PDF Rotator fixes sideways scans.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

Pikden sets no limit on file count or pages. The practical limit is your device’s memory; dozens of typical documents merge without trouble.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. Merging happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked first. Open them in your PDF reader, remove the password (or print to a new PDF), then merge.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied without re-compression, so text and images look exactly as they did in the originals.
