    How to preview Markdown

    1. Type or paste Markdown into the editor.
    2. Watch the preview. Switch between Split and Preview depending on how much room you want.
    3. Copy the HTML when you're done.

    Write Markdown, see the result

Write Markdown on one side and see it rendered on the other as you type. Good for drafting a README, checking a blog post before you publish it, or just learning the syntax.

It handles headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, lists, links, images, blockquotes, inline code and code blocks. When it looks right, Copy HTML gives you the rendered markup.

    Frequently asked questions

    Does it support tables?

Not at the moment. It covers the everyday syntax. Tables, footnotes and task lists from GitHub-style Markdown won't render.

Will it look the same on GitHub?

Close for the basics, but GitHub has its own extras and styling. Think of this as a quick check rather than an exact copy of any one site.
