Frequently asked questions

The color looks different from the original. Why?

Usually it's JPEG compression. A flat-looking area is often made up of slightly different pixels. Try clicking a couple of spots nearby and see which value comes up most.

HEX, RGB or HSL: which should I copy?

HEX for most web and design tools. RGB if your code wants separate red, green and blue numbers. HSL is nice when you want to make a lighter or darker version of the same color, because you only change the lightness number.
