Pull a palette from any photo

Found a photo with colors you love and want to build a design around it? Upload it and you'll get its main colors, up to eight of them, as swatches with hex codes.

Click a swatch to copy the hex. There's also a button that copies the whole set as CSS variables, ready to paste into your stylesheet.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it skip a color I can clearly see?

It groups similar shades together and picks colors that are clearly different from each other, so small accents can lose out to the big areas of color. If you need one exact pixel, the Color Picker tool is better for that.

Are transparent areas counted?

No, mostly transparent pixels are ignored. A logo on a transparent background will give you the logo's colors, not a pile of white or black.
