How to blur or redact part of an image

  1. Upload the screenshot or photo.
  2. Choose Pixelate, Blur or Blackout.
  3. Click and drag over each thing you want hidden.
  4. Download the redacted PNG.

Hide private details before you share

Before you share that screenshot, have a look at what's in it. Email addresses, account numbers, names in a group chat, the street sign behind someone's kid.

Drag a box over anything you want hidden and choose how to hide it: pixelate, blur or a solid black box. You can add as many boxes as you need, and undo the last one if you slip.

It all happens in your browser, so the sensitive version of the image is never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Which style is safest?

Blackout. With text especially, light pixelation or blur can sometimes be partly reversed or guessed. If it's a password or an account number, use a solid black box.

Can someone undo the redaction from my downloaded file?

No. The pixels under the box are actually replaced in the saved image, not covered by a layer that could be removed.
