How to split an image into a grid
- Upload the image.
- Pick a preset or set columns and rows.
- Choose PNG or JPEG.
- Download all the tiles as a ZIP, or click a single tile to save just that one.
Instagram grids and panoramas
Those Instagram profiles where one big image spans the whole grid? They're made by slicing a picture into tiles and posting them in order. This does the slicing.
Pick a preset like 3x3 for the grid, 1x3 for a swipeable panorama, or set your own columns and rows (up to 6 each). Each tile is numbered, so you know what order to post them in.
Frequently asked questions
What order do I post the tiles in?
Instagram shows your newest post first, top left. So post the last tile first and work backwards, finishing with tile #1.
Will the grid line up on my profile?
Instagram's profile grid now crops posts to a taller shape than a square, so the edges of each tile can get trimmed. Leave a bit of breathing room near the edges and check before you post all nine.
