How to make a logo background transparent

  1. Upload your logo (JPG or PNG).
  2. Keep the White preset selected, or click “Pick from Image” and click the background if it is off-white or cream.
  3. Raise the tolerance slowly until the background disappears completely; stop before parts of the logo start to vanish.
  4. Turn on edge smoothing to clean up jagged outlines.
  5. Download the transparent PNG.

Why logos end up with white backgrounds

Logos are often exported as JPG, emailed, or screenshotted from a PDF - and JPG has no transparency, so the empty area becomes solid white. Placed on a coloured website header, a T-shirt mock-up or a slide, that white box looks unprofessional. Removing it gives you a PNG that sits cleanly on any background.

Getting clean edges

JPG compression leaves faint grey or off-white pixels around edges. A tolerance a little above the default usually catches them. If your logo contains white shapes of its own (white text inside a coloured badge, for example), keep tolerance lower: the tool removes every pixel that matches the background colour, wherever it is.

For the sharpest result, start from the largest version of the logo you have, remove the background, and only then resize it.
